Elk Hunt 2010

We went elk hunting!
Scott had a cow elk tag near LOA, Ut.
So we packed up the camper (do you know how much stuff
it takes to go camping with me and a baby...)
and headed out into the snowy wilderness.

Grandma and Grandpa Judd went too.

It was quite an adventure.  We learned that even though the snow
is only a few inches in some places- it can be deceptively deep
in the drifts. We went up over a hill and suddenly we sank
to the frame in the truck.

We also realized that a shovel would have been handy.
Our tools consisted of a milk jug, an Arby's cup...

...and an ice scrapper.  Nice, huh.

Mmmm... Memories......

As you can see, we didn't do much of the digging.

After a couple of hours and just before dark-
we got out!   :)

Despite the milk freezing in the fridge, the camper
was super warm. Scott took good care of us.
It was a fun trip.

I think he likes hunting!

My First Deer Hunt

October 2010
My First Deer Hunt

Hunting is lots of work.  This is what Mom felt like most of the time.  Judd is a pretty good camper when he wants to be (which was most of the time). He slept better while we were camping than most nights at home.  Mom and Dad didn't sleep this peacefully, given the fact that there was three of us and a Boppy pillow on a little bed.

Grandpa Keith has been our trusty guide on several hunts.

Judd is starting to look all around and recognize things. He has such a cute personality. I can't believe how fast he is growing up. He is about seven weeks old and is such his own little person.
(Scott is a Ute's fan if you hadn't noticed.)

Here is Aunt Hannah and Grandma looking as fabulous as ever.

Judd getting some Grandma Cindee love.

Cedar Mountain was so pretty. The leaves were just starting to change colors.

I don't know who he got the being cheerful on a chilly morning from but it wasn't his mother.   He was as happy as could be.

Just smilin' away
